- Abstract
- The article examines the reasons of territorial disputes in the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. "Uncertainty" of borders, changes in international law, development of new technologies in reclamation of sea and shelf resources, intention of the authorities to "switch" attention of the public from an intense internal political situation on «the external enemy» and real facts of foreign intervention in LAC states internal affairs, create an objective basis for preservation of territorial disputes. The author marks out some common features of territorial disputes in the region.
