- Abstract
- The Guatemalan civil war (1960-1996) was a conflict between left-wing forces that chose the path of armed struggle and Pro-American regimes that established political terror in the country. In the 1960s, the first-generation guerilla faced problems that provoked a serious crisis of the entire revolutionary movement. The article examines the main internal and external factors that influenced the split in the ranks of the partisans.
