Abstract

The present article is devoted the main questions of the reconstruction of pre-spanish political organization of the pre-conquest yucatec maya. Author use non-published documents, kept in the Archivo General de Indias, Sevilla. The main sources, used by author are the letters of the Indian caziques to the Kings Council of Indias. The present-day existing reconstruction of the political geography of the late maya are critically discussed.
