- Abstract
- In this article, the author provides a comprehensive analysis of corruption as one of the main concerns of the society, causing huge damage to the economy. Main factors that promote or prevent corruption are analyzed. Extensive empirical data, indicating the extent of corruption in different countries of Latin America are included. The most high-profile scandals that have received wide publicity and had political implications are summarized. At last, the positive experience of combating corruption, learned from the rich experience of the region is captured.
