- Abstract
- The article examines the ongoing discussions in Latin America about the possible impact on its economy of mega-regional free trade agreements, primarily the Transatlantic trade and investment partnership. Most researchers consider this project, which has been under negotiation between the US and the European Union since mid-2013, to be discriminatory and a serious threat. The paper also analyzes the concepts of the "Broad Atlantic" and "Atlantic triangle", aimed at connecting other regions of the Atlantic basin, primarily Latin America, to the project.
