- Abstract
- The Uruguayan “Broad Front”, the ruling central-left coalition of political parties, has won the general elections held in October 2014, while the presidential election was won by Tabare Vazquez, the country ex-president. The paper treats the elections outcome, summarises the main results of Jose Mujica’s government work: home policy problems, social protection system developments, the educational system difficulties and achievements. The author highlights the significant difference of Uruguayan socio-economical landscapes during the first (2005) and second Vazquez’s presidential terms. The tasks and prospects of the new government also are discussed.
