- Abstract
- Despite the apparent unity, the South American region remains divided. The main dividing lines in the region traditionally are associated with different civilization matrix, levels of socio-economic development and the dominant ideological cur- rents. To clarify the structure of relations between the countries of the region the authors resort to the methods of applied analysis: the study of South American countries voting in the UN General Assembly and network analysis of trade, investment and military- political relations between the countries of the region.
