Abstract
The article dedicate the position of archaeological investigations in the ancient West Mexico of the Classic period. On the example of analysis of the culture of Teuchitlan in the form of archaeological and architectural complex of Guachimontones (a territory of the contemporary state Xalisco) is noted that she was influensed by the excellent civilization Teotihuacan, was placed the premier place in the region. In the article are analysed the discussional questions connecting with the definition of the stage of the social development of this culture.
