- Abstract
- The prominent Latin-Americanist Alexandr Slinko proposes in his latest book a new methodological approach to the analysis of the political processes of the continent. This approach contributes to the reconsideration of a classic scheme of the “Right and Left Wing” ideologies and of the paradigms of bipolarity of plural polarity. According to Slinko, one can note four types of political regimes in today’s Latin America: Left-Wing revolutionary regimes, Left-Wing alternative regimes; the Centrist and Left-Centrist regimes, and antirevolutionary Right-Wing and Right-Centrist regimes. He also gives the characteristics of the peculiarities of the functioning of all these types of regimes with the examples provided by almost twenty countries.
