Abstract
The author compares the artistic embodiment of the key art’s concepts “life – death” in the works of these Mexican and Norwegian writers and reveals the connection of the concepts with the ancient traditional layers of culture –  correspondingly – of Mexican Indians, Norwegian vikings and saami. Also the connection of these two writers’ poetics with the works of F.M. Dostoevsky is shown up.
