- Abstract
- The paper analyses ongoing transformation processes in the left-driven Latin American countries from the perspectives of the system theory. On the basis of the system approach, authors identify the reasons for the left turn in Latin America after the Washington consensus and examine the characteristics of transformation. As a result, Latin American countries are divided into two groups by the nature of transformation processes. The first group consists of ‘left-oriented’ states with evolutionary transformation and first-order changes; the second involves countries of ‘twenty-first-socialism’ being in the first stage of system transformation characterized by second-order-changes.
