Abstract

The book deals with the formation and development of Spanish-Russian relations in the XVIII century, their role and place within the overall foreign policy of Spain. The author gives the particular attention to the participation of Spain and Russia in the Seven Years War, their relationship during the War for Independence of USA, the reasons for the cooling of relations between the two countries, which led to a rupture of diplomatic relations. The author shows the key issues of Spanish history, illuminated by the Russian diplomats who were in those years in Madrid.
