- Abstract
- In the article conditions for the formation of the Brazilian culture are researched, a brief analysis of its outstanding characteristics is carried out. The author attempts to answer the question if Latin American civilization exists and if Brazil belongs to it. From the position of Samuel Huntington's theory he analyzes the processes of globalization and of interaction of local civilizations, occurring in the world nowadays, and makes some predictions about the future world order and the place of Brazil in it. In the author’s opinion, only if this South American country, guided by the principles of the Alliance of Civilizations, treats carefully its own culture and at the same time participates in the intercultural dialogue, the existence of its cultural identity in the globalized world will become a reality.
