- Abstract
- The ‘official date’ of foundation of the Communist Party of Venezuela (March 5, 1931) doesn’t take into account the history of relations between the Venezuelan Communists and the Comintern. The articles deals with the investigation of the contacts between the Communist leaders of the Venezuelan Revolutionary Party and the Continental Revolutionary Groups (brothers Machado and S. de la Plaza, etc.) with Moscow established in 1920s. The Venezuelans were planning to receive the approvement of their plan of armed expedition with a purpose to defeat the dictatorship of J.V.Gomez. However, the ECCI and the Soviet government refused the ‘garibaldian way’ of Venezuelan revolution and demanded to form ‘a proletarian party within Venezuela’.
