- Abstract
- Chilean thinker and politician, Francisco Bilbao (1823 - 1865) was an outstanding representative of the Latin American utopian socialism and liberalism, anticlerical, one of the principal figures of the liberal regeneration in Chile under the influence of the European 1848 revolutions. At the head of the “Society of Equality "(1850) he contribute to destroy the conservative and clerical regime in Chile and its peaceful liberal transformation. His activities and ideas have led to the wide-spread involving into politics of the masses, artisans and the working class.
