- Abstract
- The review is devoted to the monograph by a famous Peruvian sociologist and anthropologist C.I. Degregori. The social roots of an extremist organization “Sendero Luminoso” are revealed in the book. Moreover, the program and the terrorist activities of the organization are analyzed as well as their consequences for Peru and Ayacucho region, in particular. The monograph offers social and psychological characteristics of the regional elites, who instigated the terrorist war, and studies international and global aspects of the problem.
