- Abstract
- Review is dedicated to the monograph “The artistic world of Indians of Central Mexico”, written by E.A.Kozlova. In this remarkable book there are analysed the main aspects of the creative work of different representatives of Indians, first of all – Aztecs. The author applies to the precondition of the origins of their art, examines the peculiarities of city-building, sculpture, wall painting, ritual and lyric poetry, the richest applied arts. Except that E.A.Kozlova completely recreates the mythological world outlook and the conception of cyclic time in art, which has in considerable degree caused its specific character.
