- Abstract
- The article discusses the sequence of events leading up to the rapid expansion of Xi Jinping's Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) in Latin America and analyzes some of the most notable examples of its implementation through infrastructure projects in the region. The countries with the highest and lowest share of joint Latin-Chinese projects are identified and forecasts on what such infrastructure cooperation could lead to in the future are provided.
