Abstract
The history of the Society of Russian-Chinese Friendship dates back to October 29, 1957, when the founding meeting of the Society of Soviet-Chinese Friendship, the first among the societies of friendship with foreign countries, was held in Moscow. The OSKD and its successor, the ORC, have played a very important role in the development of multilateral relations, mutual understanding, and friendship between the peoples of the two neighboring powers for more than half a century. The article, which details the history of the formation and development of the Society, provides an overview of its most important actions in the name of bilateral friendship (which were not interrupted even during the deterioration of interstate relations). This contribution has been repeatedly praised by the leaders of Russia and China.
