Abstract
The article considers an important episode in the history of the Soviet-Yugoslav relations, connected with the visit of the Yugoslav governmental delegation to the Soviet Union in June 1956. During the visit, the Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the USSR Anastas Mikoyan held an informal discussion with Edvard Kardelj - one of the closest associates of President Tito. As a supplement, the text of a previously classified report of this meeting is published, drawn from the words of Mikoyan and now stored in the State Archives of the Russian Federation. The content of the document demonstrates the willingness of the leadership of both countries to understand the contradictions and bring positions on some issues closer together.
