- Abstract
- The authors are showing creative character of development of the Comintern’s ties with its national sections in Latin America taking the biography of the Swiss communist Edgar Woog (Alfred Stirner) as the basis for the analysis. Woog's role in a number of episodes, key issues for the Left-Wing movement, such as the Comintern's relations with V. R. Haya de la Torre, the alliance of the Communist Party of Mexico and the National Peasants' League, and the plan of the armed expedition against J. V. Gómez conceived by the Venezuelan Revolutionary party, is thoroughly investigated. The article deals with the analysis of evolution of the Comintern functionary's views and the degree of his independence in an assessment of revolutionary processes in the Western hemisphere.
