- The literature of Spanish America at the turn of XIX - XX centuries: the range of currents The article highlights the main currents of the Spanish American literature at the turn of the XIX - XX centuries, such as Romanticism, Costumbrism, Naturalism, Realism and Modernism. In this period, due to the emergence of new literary trends the overall panorama of literature has radically changed. The new quality of the literary process was manifested in the multiplicity of various aesthetic elements and genres, in literary controversies and the diffusion of various currents, which became manifestation of the general synthesizing orientation of Latin American culture.
