Abstract

The author analyzes the new Latin American regionalism formed under the favorable international circumstances in the first 10 years of the XXI century, as well as the U.S. new strategy towards the Latin America and the Caribbean countries, by which Washington is trying to counter the growing presence in the region of such extraregional actors as China, Russia, Iran, etc.
