- Abstract
K.N.Brutents, one of the most respected researchers of contemporary international relations, celebrated his 90-year anniversary with publication of the book "The great geopolitical revolution". The same is dedicated to an unprecedented transformation that occurs in the vast space of recent "third world" and, consequently, on the international scene in general. The revolution, according to the author, is based on the political awakening of two thirds of the population of our planet. Latin America, its peoples figure prominently in the transformational flows moving across three continents. Recent public rejection of Washington from the Monroe doctrine - ideological bases of two centuries of American domination of the USA in the Western hemisphere - is a testament to that. But the struggle continues. We offer our readers a fragment from this interesting and important study, which is devoted to contemporary Latin America.
