- Abstract
- This article is focused on the study of the Spanish writer R. Gomez de la Serna's book 'Six false novels' (1923-1927). Despite the author's claims saying that it is not parodies, we studied it in the context of the theory of the novel by Jose Ortega y Gasset and Spanish mass literature of the early twentieth century. In this case, the objects of Gomez de la Serna's travesty are subgenres of exotic and cosmopolitan novel. The author's approach leaves no room for doubt: it is a genuine work of avant-garde literature.
