- Abstract
- The article examines some core tendencies in the evolution of civil-military relations in Paraguay after Alfredo Stroessner's dictatorship. Short historic survey is provided and analyses focuses on periods of different presidential administrations, up to nowadays presidency of Horacio Cartes. The authors aspire to propose an original view on the essence of Paraguayan democratic transition and consolidation in accordance with changes in the role of armed forces in national political life.
