Abstract

A concept of “community justice” in Colombia encompasses a variety of institutions for conflict resolution and regulation of social behavior according to the norms prescribed by communities. The article deals with dynamics of development of these institutions during last decades in interaction with the state, leftist guerrilla and rightist paramilitary forces; analyzes the Colombian government’s politics towards integration of community justice in the national judicial system
