- Abstract
- The article is devoted to analysis of two attempts by the US government to introduce the US Dollar as currency in circulation in Latin American countries: at the beginning and at the end of the XX century. The author considers US politics of dollarization as an alternative to monetary integration model, implemented in the EU. The intentions of the dollarization policy, political and economic reasons of its instability as well as predictable crash of the policy during the First World War and in late 1990s have been studied.
