- Abstract
- The article is devoted to the two hundredth anniversary of the foundation of the Russian consulate general in Rio de Janeiro, that is practically two century consular and diplomatic presence of Russia in Latin America (1811 – 2011). In this article it is regarded all-round activity of the first consul general and scientist G.I. Langsdorff, and also of the participants of his expedition in Brazil in 1821 – 1829. The article shows what valuable contribution put forward the successors of Langsdorff in the development of Russian – Latinamerican relations, science and culture in the XIX-th and at the beginning of XX-th centuries.
