- Abstract
- The article is focused on the results of economic policy in the years of L.I. Lulu da Silva presidency (2003-2010). The important element of the policy is the increasing role of the State in stimulating economic development and in solving social problems. The increasing management efficiency of the Government, timely taken anticiclic measures and resumed investment process helped Brazil to overcome the crisis of 2009 with minimum losses and to ensure high growth rates in 2010. The article also provides the analyses of the impact of the international crisis on Brazil’s economy, the Federal government crisis management, key macroeconomic indicators in 2005-2009 and estimates for 2010 as well as an official forecast for the country economic development in the post-crisis period up to 2014 and growth prospects through the period ending 2020.
