Abstract
The previous two publications described how in 1560 an expedition was sent down the Amazon in search of El Dorado, led by Pedro de Ursua. The rebels, inspired by Lope de Aguirre, killed Ursua, and put Fernando de Guzman in his place, proclaiming the latter king of Peru and Chile. Having decided to take away Spain's colonies, they renounced Spanish citizenship and decided to conquer Peru. But Guzman did not have a chance to "reign" for long - soon he himself was killed on the orders of Lope de Aguirre, who stood at the head of the rebel army. The path of the expedition was littered with corpses: the leader of the rebels executed his comrades on the slightest suspicion of treason.
