Abstract
In article the social and economic situation in Venezuela on the threshold of presidential election is considered. Despite the revival which has begun after two-year economic recession the government faces complex problems connected with high inflation and providing the population with the main food, with inefficient work of the state enterprises and mistrust of foreign investors. Victory possibilities of the main aspirants on elections are analyzed.
