- Abstract
- The desire to accelerate their economic growth and address their urgent problems on the basis of favorable external economic environment, let down Latin American countries more than once, driving them into a kind of "economic traps". Today, Latin American countries are at risk of falling into "ecological trap". Prospects of getting «decent money» offered for the raw goods by several of the countries in Southeast Asia (the new "locomotives" for the world economy) serve as «bait» for these Latin American countries. The escalating competition for the raw materials of the Latin American countries has resulted in rapidly increasing burden on their natural potential and threat of depletion.
