- Abstract
- The article deals with the missionary activity of the Jesuits in the Orinoco basin. Despite the peculiarities of the Indian cultures of this area, missions were established here, some of which can be considered quite successful, although not as successful as in Paraguay. For science, the contribution of the Orinoco Jesuits to the study of geography, natural history, linguistics, and ethnography of modern Venezuela and Colombia is particularly important.
