- Abstract
- The first two years of the new government of A.Colom showed, that he was conducting the same policy as of his predecessor, whose main priority was macroeconomic stability. It was impossible to see any signs of a new development model of “socialism with mayan face”. The state activity in the social sphere was intensified, but it could not diminish the poverty aggravated due to world economic crisis. The timid attempt of a turn to the left encountered the combination of political, economic and nature catastrophes.
