- Abstract
- Claims that the institutions and theories of sociology developed in the United States can reflect the peculiarities of collective life on the globe are now being refuted on several grounds. Sociologists in Australia, Africa, and Latin America insist that collective existence is defined by much more diverse principles than those that correspond to the Western Canon. Another reason is gender. According to feminist sociologists, the basic principle of relationships was developed by white men in the Middle ages. My conclusion: the interweaving of trends in modern sociologization leads to the emergence of a "different" sociology - one that has the potential to comprehensively understand the social and unite sociologists in a global community.
