Abstract
Within the framework of the resource approach, which is a kind of neo-Marxism, the article analyzes the final phase of the formation of the social structure of Russian society, identifies the number of the main classes (middle, working and lower), and their key features. Special attention is paid to the specifics of the resources of the lower class, it is shown that in Russia its self-reproduction has already begun, and the underclass that was previously absent in Russian society is also completing its formation. It is shown that the zone of formation of the lower class is primarily small towns and villages. The middle class is concentrated in large cities, while the working class is evenly distributed across all types of localities.
