Abstract
In the context of the problems of the development of modern sociology, the key ideas of Axel Honnet's social theory are considered – the method of normative reconstruction, the concept of recognition, the phenomenon of” forgotten " recognition, the right of freedom. Honnet is shown as the successor of the Frankfurt School of Social Sciences, developing the original ideas for this school, the problems of critical sociology, and the sociological ideas of Yu. Habermas et al. The relevance of his approaches to modern European sociology is revealed.
