Abstract
The article describes the situation in the cognitive process, substantiates the historical need to develop the concept of eco-social knowledge, considers the agents and stages of this type of scientific production, its spatial and temporal parameters. The article contains a list of the main challenges presented to this branch of knowledge by the very course of the historical process.
