Abstract
The article on the example of the multinational Austria-Hungary analyzes the imperial state system with regard to its resilience to crisis challenges. The main conclusion: critical shortage of this political space organization form is it’s impossibility to combine the solution to the problems of sociopolitical modernization and ethno-cultural progress of the peoples living the state.
