Abstract
The phenomenon of an American University abroad is examined. Being located in Latin America, Africa, Eurasia, and Asia-Pacific region, American Universities disseminate an American model of higher education, train local elites and participate in political life of a foreign society. The Agency for International Development is reviewed as a primary conductor of this educational policy.
